Membership

Whether you are new to polyamory or have decades of experience, you are welcome here. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, religion, or sexual/affectional preference.

We define "polyamory" as follows (from the bylaws):

"...the honest, non-possessive, responsible, and ethical philosophy and practice of experiencing and encouraging all levels of love - including affectionate, romantic, or sexual love - with multiple people, concurrently (a.k.a. "ethical" or “intentional  non-monogamy"). "

Membership Process

We require that prospective members complete an application which is reviewed by our Membership Committee. This helps us determine if we (you and our organization) are a good "match".

By completing the application, you agree to the following:

  1. You are over the age of 18

  2. You are being honest and loving in any existing romantic relationship(s) in which you are currently involved. Ideally, your partner(s) is/are aware of and consenting to your membership in our group.

  3. Your intent for joining our organization is to take part in our community. If you are looking for swinging events or a dating club, this group may not be the best fit for meeting your needs.

To apply for membership, please click on the "Register" tab above the log in box.

Ongoing membership requirements: volunteering and dues

We believe that the costs of running our organization - time and money -  should be shared fairly by all members.  This helps give members a sense of ownership in our community, and works to prevent individual members from becoming overwhelmed. Many hands lighten the load.

To serve this, we require that all members of MNPoly contribute annually to our organization in one of two ways:

  • Ten (10) hours of volunteer work for our organization. This can be anything from hosting events (public or private), to research or administrative tasks.

  • Fifteen dollars ($15) to be paid to MNPoly. Funds collected from membership dues will be used to cover group expenses (website, P.O. box, etc.) and can also be used as "seed money" for group sponsored events.
